Lentil Burgers

Choosing Chia

Ingredients:

  • ½ can brown lentils  
  • ¼ cup of oat flour
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • 2 tsp ketchup 
  • ½ tsp garlic powder and ½ tsp paprika 
  • ½  tsp black pepper and ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp oil for cooking 
  • Optional toppings: red onion, lettuce, tomato, etc.

 

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, start to mash lentils with a fork and 

then add in oat flour as a binder. 

  1. Add in the seasonings and form into 2 patties.   
  2. Heat oil of your choice in a pan and place patty in the pan.  
  3. Cook for about 7 minutes on medium heat and then flip and cook for another 5-10 until it reaches the desired temperature and crispiness.

Variations:

  • Instead of buying oat flour pre-made, it can be easily made by putting oats in a blender/food processor until completely ground. 
  • Use other sauteed veggies inside of the burger before you cook the patty. 
  • This can easily be customized with different burger toppings, buns, and even sauces! Try spicy mayo, ranch, burger sauce, or even sriracha!
