Get ready for Italian night! On Tuesday, November 5th, we will be teaching students how to make Bruschetta as an appetizer and a refreshing Caprese Salad as a side and  Zoodle Bolognese for our main dish.

Our bruschetta recipe includes Roma tomatoes, onion, garlic, capers, fresh basil and balsamic vinegar! We are also using fresh baguettes from a local bakery, Barrio Bread, who use locally sourced grains to make their delicious breads! Capers are a great addition to Italian dishes because they give the meal a tangy and spicy flavor. They are a great source of fiber, minerals, and vitamins.

Next, we have Zoodle Bolognese. This recipe featured spiralized zucchini as our “noodles” onion, ground beef, tomatoes, dried rosemary, oregano, sage, basil, and marjoram. These herbs and spices have amazing benefits. For example, sage can improve brain function and memory!

Our final recipe is our Caprese Salad. Caprese salads are a simple, classic Italian salad that include tomato, mozzarella, and fresh basil. You can also drizzle some balsamic vinegar and olive oil for more flavor!

We are so excited for our next cooking class on Tuesday, November 5th! Italian Night starts at 5:15 pm at Outdoor Rec. See you there!
