Our Thanksgiving class is coming up very soon! We are so excited for our next-to-final cooking class of the semester, “Gobble Up!” on November 19th! Come learn how to make some creative and easy Thanksgiving recipes including Farro Pilaf, Cranberry Turkey, and a Pumpkin Pie Shake.

This Farro Pilaf recipe features ingredients like farro, chicken stock, shallot, oregano, thyme, and parsley. Farro has some excellent health benefits because it is an amazing source of fiber and also contains a load of antioxidants and protein! We’re using a combo of herbs instead of lots of salt in this recipe because it adds lots of flavor! One herb we’ll be adding to the dish is oregano. Did you know that it has some cool properties such as reducing inflammation in the body?

We can’t wait to make our delicious Cranberry Turkey recipe! Turkey is a rich source of protein, niacin, and vitamin B6. Vitamin B6 is crucial for several functions of the body, including improving mood and helping reduce some symptoms of depression. We are also adding butter, fresh cranberries, and apple cider vinegar in this recipe.

Our last recipe is our Pumpkin Pie shake! This shake contains banana, 100% pumpkin puree, nonfat milk, Greek yogurt, nutmeg, and we top it with whipped cream! Bananas contain potassium which is awesome for heart health and healthy blood pressure. In addition, bananas contain manganese which is great for your skin!

Make sure to sign up for this delicious Thanksgiving cooking class! You will definitely want to make these recipes for your own Thanksgiving or Friendsgiving this year! “Gobble Up!” will be on November 19th at 5:15 pm at Outdoor Rec. Don’t miss out!
