Hey Wildcats...get ready for our “Bear Down, Eat Up!” cooking class next Tuesday! You won’t want to miss out on these tasty and nutritious recipes for your next game day! We will be teaching you how to make Cauli-Buffalo Wings, Touchdown Turkey Sliders, and Spinach Artichoke Dip.

We decided to substitute cauliflower for chicken in these Cauli-Buffalo Wings! This recipe includes cauliflower, gluten free flour, and panko! Cauliflower is a low calorie, high antioxidant food that also provides three grams of satisfying fiber per cup! A diet high in fiber can help prevent constipation and irritable bowel disease.

Touchdown Turkey Sliders are a perfect appetizer or main dish for game day! These slides contain lean ground turkey, egg, avocado, tomato, fresh cilantro, lettuce, cumin, and mini whole wheat hamburger buns. Avocados, turkey and eggs are all great sources of protein! Protein is an important building block for the body’s skin, blood, muscles, bones, and cartilage.

We can’t forget about the Spinach Artichoke Dip! This dip is great to pair with bread, chips, or crackers. In this dip we will combine spinach, artichoke hearts, water chestnuts, Greek yogurt, parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and onion powder. Artichokes are one of the most antioxidant-rich vegetables that have particular benefits to the liver. They also contain significant amounts of vitamins C and K.

We can’t wait to see us at our next class on Tuesday, September 24th. Class begins at 5:15 pm and is located at Outdoor Rec. Registration is only $7! Check out our website to get your name on the list or come through the main desk at Rec Center or Outdoor Rec.
