Trail Mix Base Recipe

Equipment: 

plastic baggies

measuring cup & spoons

small bowl 

Servings: 6               Serving Size: ~1/3 cup 

 

Ingredients:

½ Cup Nuts (pistachios, almonds, cashews, walnuts, peanuts, pecans)

½  Cup unsweetened Dried Fruit (raisins, cranberries, dates, apricots)

¼  Cup Raw Seeds (sunflower, flax, pumpkin)

½  Cup Grains (whole grain cereal, granola, popcorn, pretzels)

2 tablespoon Sweets (dark, milk, or white chocolate chips)

 

Instructions:

Combine all ingredients in a small bowl to enjoy right away or divide into small plastic bags to take with you on the go.

 

Variations:

  • YOU are the chef here! Get creative. Any combination of grain, fruit, nut and or seed will make a great healthy snack that will fuel you throughout the day. You could even add a sweet element for an extra boost of energy such as coconut flakes or banana chips.
